Exit

White chalk lines direct me home
the floor’s covered with soda cans
can’t remember the last stop
cruise control takes a chance

Don’t feel my feet, fingers are numb
full throttle in highest gear
refilling gas in sleepy routine
need the speed, get away from here

It’s raining cats and dogs
Waits loud on the stereo
stopped smoking three years ago
but I need one right now

Someone told me; live to love
but my love has gone
I try to stay on track (keep things together)
I need to go on (have to go on)

Is my headlight broken
Did he signal, did he sign?
I remember the way father drove
and more pictures pass my mind

The radio silent, the wind is cool
Still a very long way to go
The sound of breaking waves I hear
Will I reach my goal?

The shimmering light at the horizon
is getting brighter along the way
How many days am I driving
I need a place where I can stay

The shimmering light at the horizon
is getting brighter along the way
How many days must I drive
To a place where I can stay

The shimmering light at the horizon
is getting brighter along the way
How many days did I drive
I found a place where we can stay

About

Ik ben een teruggetrokken, enigszins zwaar op de hand zijnde oude Brabander, met een ongeorganiseerde stroom gedachten.
